What is Capnomask™?
Capnomask™ is a medium concentration mask for EtCO₂ monitoring. It was designed alongside clinicians to enable rapid and accurate detection of EtCO₂ and enhance patient safety.
The high-performance Capnomask™ is impregnated with a subtle vanilla scent to help reduce post-operative nausea and vomiting.

Capnography
Since the first infra-red CO₂ measuring and recording apparatus was introduced in 1943 by Luft, Capnography has evolved into an essential component of standard anaesthesia monitoring practice.
Adequate and safe sedation and analgesia are critical aspects of any operation or interventional treatment, for which the Anaesthesiologist is primarily responsible.
Capnography provides clinicians with instant, vital information on the respiratory status of a patient, thereby increasing clinician reaction time to prevent patient distress.
Patient comfort and safety are key, however, response to sedatives and analgesics can vary from person to person, which can contribute to over or under-sedation, adverse events such as hypotension, apnoea, hypoxemia or respiratory failure. The swift clinical response time supported by our mask enhances patient safety.
Due to these advantages, the use of capnography monitoring is being extended outside of the operating theatre to emergency rooms, endoscopic suites, x-ray rooms and even to on-site emergency and trauma fields. The use of continuous capnography in all anaesthetised patients is recommended by the Association of Anaesthetists (AoA)[1]
and The American Society of Anaesthesiologists (ASA)[2].
